Liberty’s Lessons of Courage

In this one-and-a-half-hour program, preschool and kindergarten students will learn about having good character through the example of President Ford with help from a very special tour guide – Liberty, the Ford’s cherished dog and former White House resident. Oral storytelling and replicated artifacts will be used to explain the character trait of “courage” and a guided tour through the museum will illustrate how President Ford used courage in different situations. The day will wrap up with students creating their own “courage caps” to remind them that they, too, have the power to be courageous.
