This week we welcomed two elementary student groups: one from Calvin CRC’s Believe 2 Become Summer Learning Group and one from West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science. Students in first through fourth grade explored the new Museum exhibits to discover the many ways President Ford was an engaged citizen.
They learned that even at a young age, there are many ways they can contribute to their communities. One way to do this is to communicate. The class read letters that had been written to President Ford by children and then put their own citizenship into action by writing postcards to the White House.
They shared ideas and asked questions and even made a few requests…like asking for more pandas in the United States!
